LOVE AND LIGHT

August 8, 2018

This Wander Wednesday I'm going to shed some love and light, via some harsh truth. Everyone has their own things in life they need to face. Some of us run, or some of us face it... handle it... and in turn, grow into better versions of ourselves one realization at a time.

How ignorant is it to think you have nothing to work on internally? Why are you allowing yourself to be blind to your inner thoughts and reactions? To believe you're already sitting in this bubble of perfection? Don't be afraid to look deep into your imperfections. News flash: WE ALL HAVE THEM. Face them head on and work on being a better version of yourself! Think about it. What are your weaknesses? What can you work on? Be honest with yourself... truly honest. Brutally honest. Be AWARE of your imperfections. What are you scared of?? There's nothing wrong with facing your imperfections because this is the only way we can address them and in turn become wiser over time. Catch your tendencies and work on reacting differently. Where is your compassion for others? This has been a constant theme in my posts because I see such a lack of people being able to stick themselves in other's shoes that it's disappointing and downright disgusting. Are you really better than that concept... better than everyone around you? Are you really that f**king perfect? FIX YOUR HEART. Beauty should absolutely be deeper than the skin. Raise everyone up with you, don't bring others down.

Are you so afraid of the self that you can't face your weaknesses? That in itself is a weakness! We might perceive being "strong minded," never shedding a tear, not wearing your heart on your sleeve, and closing your emotions off to others as strength. That's not strength. That's weaker than anything else. VULNERABILITY is strength. Being CONFIDENT in your true emotions is strength. Sharing compassion with others is strength.

Weakness is following the herd, not thinking for yourself, not facing your imperfections, and not working to be aware, learn, and improve.

Wake up! Practice a thought process I've mentioned in past blog posts. Before snapping to react, take a few breaths, think about how you were going to react and say to yourself, "is this the vibe I want to give off?" "Am I being compassionate and kind?" "Am I representing the type of person I really want to be?" "Do I actually give a f**k how I'm making this person feel with my words?"

My homework for you is to list five things you need to work on regarding the self. Some of mine personally are pride, ego, materialism, procrastination, and empathy regarding situations that I cannot relate to.

THEN, list five characteristics/actions that reflect your strengths! Lift yourself up. Just because we have weaknesses doesn't mean we are terrible people! We all have things to work on, and strength is having the confidence to face them head on and work on them. Acknowledging them is strength in itself. Stand tall, be less impressionable, and be your own person! And don't run from the people trying to raise you up. It may seem blunt at first, like you're being targeted. You might even become a bit defensive because you weren't even ready to face the issue(s), and now you have someone bringing something to the surface, shedding light on it. But consider what they're saying as constructive criticism. Thank them, because they love you enough to care about your soul deep down.

Work to be better every day. Share love and light with others. Don't contribute to the world's hate.

One love.
